Sunday, September 21st – “Taste of Alaska – All Seasons” Welcome Reception
Join us for the Welcome Reception at the Anchorage Hilton Hotel hosted by the Port of Anchorage. The city of Anchorage welcomes you to the beginning of an exciting week of activities at the 97th Annual AAPA Convention. Dress is casual to business casual.

Monday, September 22nd – Alaska Native Heritage Center
The Alaska Native Heritage Center provides a unique opportunity to experience Alaska’s many diverse Native cultures in one location. The Welcome House is a celebration of contemporary Alaska Native peoples, while the outdoor facilities allow the exploration of ancient tradition and stories from the past. The facility boasts of five outdoor distinct native villages describing the subsistence lifestyle of each unique native cultural. Enjoy an outdoor “Salmon Bake, native dancers, artists, storyteller, historical movie, gift shop and more! Casual dress.

Tuesday, September 23rd – “A Taste of Texas” 2009 – Hosted by the Port of Galveston
The Port of Galveston is offering up a “Taste of Texas” with a unique Galveston twist. This is a true western-style event, so dust off your western wear and join the Port of Galveston for succulent Texas barbecue.

Wednesday, September 24th – Alaska Railroad Glacier Discovery Train to Grandview
This will be like no rail road trip you have ever experienced. Our rail excursion will take us along the most scenic stretch of Alaska scenery with wide-open landscapes, towering mountains, awesome glaciers, spectacular flora, and incomparable wildlife viewing opportunities. Roam through a dozen or more unique rail cars including the double-deck cars with panorama views, a Tiki Car with a bar, dance floor and Karaoke, a lounge car with plush seating and entertainment. Food will abound throughout the train with a selection of the “best of Alaska” seafood, heavy hors d’ oeuvres, beverages and dessert. Casual dress.

Thursday, September 25th – Chairman’s Gala
The evening will begin with a Gala Reception as we reflect on a fabulous week of reconnecting, stimulating discussions and awesome networking events. Enjoy this special evening with good friends, good food, entertainment and dancing. Dress is black tie optional.
